Image Scan Holdings plc - X-ray Inspection System for Johnson Matthey

20 December 2004

Image Scan, a leading provider of multi-view, 3D X-ray imaging technologies for the security and industrial inspection markets, is pleased to announce that its wholly owned subsidiary 3DX-RAY Limited has received a significant order from Johnson Matthey, the speciality chemicals and precious metals company. The order for a multi-station industrial inspection system is due for delivery early in the second quarter 2005 and has a total value in excess of £600,000.

This new contract follows on from the previous delivery to the same company of a stand-alone laboratory system which was used by Johnson Matthey to evaluate the feasibility of employing Image Scan’s advanced DEX X-ray camera technology to provide high resolution and high speed inspection.

Nicholas Fox, Chief Executive of Image Scan, said:

“We are obviously delighted by the news of this second order from Johnson Matthey. It again endorses the power of our X-ray imaging capabilities and our ability to deliver these solutions into real commercial applications.”

Johnson Matthey’s Project Manager, Dave Godden, said:

“Johnson Matthey have been very impressed by the X-ray imaging technology offered by 3DX-Ray and are pleased to include this capability into our facilities. This new instrumentation both helps us improve our process control and ensures that we can exceed our customer’s demands on product quality.”
